Neat Image is an image enhancing tool specifically designed to reduce grain and noise from your digital photographs in a simple and rewarding way. Its highly effective algorithms will remove any undesired noise and excessive grain from your images without damaging its details.
Scanned images, photos taken with a low light level, enlarged sections of a photograph, cropped fragments, and many other pre- and post-processing factors can make your digital images look noisy, grainy, and even blurry sometimes. You will find many image “denoisers” out there – some of them for free – ready to clean up your beloved photos… and wipe most details away in the process. Neat Image uses professional, high-quality algorithms that produce astonishing results without damaging your photos. Going through the noise reduction process is not as simple as it may be in other tools, however, but this is one of those cases in which the end justifies the means.
The program works with noise profiles and noise filters that you need to define beforehand. Neat Image can help you design your profiles by using the “Auto Profile” function, and allows you save them for future use. Auto Profile will look for an area in the image with no important details (usually a flat section of it containing mainly noise) to use as reference in the denoising process. Using the data collected from this area, the program will give you a preview of the resulting image, which you can fine-tune using the noise filter settings provided. Once you are happy with the results, you can launch the cleaning process and save the output file in the format of your choice.
You can open as many image files as you wish, and apply specific profiles to each of them according to the level of dirt and noise present in each of them. Neat Image will then process all of them in one go, filtrating each photograph accordingly. You will find that the results make up for all the fuss.
